This Privacy Policy describes how and when POLIZERO, a project funded by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, collects, uses, and shares your information when you use the polizero.ch website.
When using the website you consent to the collection, storage, processing and utilization of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Personal information we collect
The POLIZERO website only collects information absolutely necessary for providing its services to its visitors. More specifically, we collect data by using cookies to make the website operational and gather analytics data (using Google Analytics) in order to prepare aggregated, anonymised statistics on visitor’s activity. Thus, when you visit our website, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address and time zone. Additionally, as you browse the website, we collect information about the individual web pages or documents that you view.
We will also collect your personal contact details if you complete the ‘contact us’ form and use it to respond to your question/comment. However, your personal contact details will not be stored or processed thereafter.
What are cookies and how do you delete or block cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site.
You can delete all cookies that are already on your device by clearing the browsing history of your browser. This will remove all cookies from all websites you have visited. Be aware though that you may also lose saved information (e.g. saved login details, site preferences).
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. For more information on how to set the preferences for cookies, please refer to the instructions provided by your browser.
You can find out more about cookies and how to control them on www.aboutcookies.org .
Please note that if you block our use of cookies, you may be unable to access certain pages of our website and certain services or functions may become unavailable or malfunction.
Use of Google Analytics and how to opt out
In order to understand how our visitors use our webpage, and analyse POLIZERO’s reach, we use Google Analytics, which collects and processes first-party cookies, i.e. data related to the device/browser, IP address and on-site/app activities, to measure and report statistics about user interactions on the websites and/or apps that use Google Analytics.
In order to limit the collection of personal data, POLIZERO has selected IP address anonymization. Thus, the last octet of the IP address of users is set to zero prior to its storage.
You can opt-out of making your site activity available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You can find the add-on here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/
